Lance's Vineyard Pinot Noir
Wine
Punch Lance's Vineyard Pinot Noir is grown predominantly on the winery's original 1976 plantings, as well as adjoining blocks added in 1998 and 2003.
The vines are situated on a steep, northerly aspect at St Andrews in the Yarra Valley. Fastidious viticulture produces fruit that sings a song of its place and variety.
The fruit is handpicked and mostly destemmed, with a small portion left as whole bunches. After fermentation with wild yeasts, the wine rests for several weeks on skins.
It is then sent to new and seasoned French oak barrels to mature for 10 months. Bottling occurs on site without fining or filtration.
Crimson red, Punch Lance's Vineyard Pinot Noir is a perfumed and spicy wine with forest fruit flavours. Cellaring potential is seven years.
